The Orangeburg Area Shag Club is a non-profit organization and our goal is to promote and preserve the heritage of beach music and shag dancing.

We meet each Thursday night of each month at 7:00 P.M. at Ziggies Lounge at the Quality Inn & Suites in Santee, S.C.

     I hope all of you had a Happy New Year.  It is cold outside so it is a good time to come out and shag to some great tunes in 2013.     
There is a lot of new music out this past year and some very good shag tunes. A few that a lot of people have been dancing to are Wild Turkey 101, Black on Fri. Night and Closing Time.  Please support the people that makes this music happen by buying here CD’s.            
     Thanks for all of you that make it out to Ziggy’s  on Thursday shag night for the club.  Please support your club and other shag clubs in the area every chance you get.  Without your support we will not have a place to dance. It is always good to see you out on the dance floor and we always welcome new faces.  I am looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor with your happy feet.  If would like to learn how to shag we will teach you.  

     Keep in mind the REUP Party is Sat. January 24 at the Santee convention Center on Bass Dr. in Santee, S.C.  The Fantastic Shakers will be there keeping the dance floor full.  This is a BYOB party and the convention center is large so there will be plenty of room to sit and dance.  We always have a great time with all our friends at this event. We had it at this location last year and everyone loved is because it was so nice.  Please remember that all DJ’s want to play the music you want to hear, so if there is a song or type of music you want please let them know.  It is not how good you dance but how much fun you have.
